ABOUT
Meet Samantha Lemieux, Founder of Lemieux Interiors, and Certified Biophilic Designer
With every service I provide, my ultimate goal is to be someone you can trust to shape your space into one that mirrors the life you've worked so hard to build.
In other words, I create spaces that fuel your soul!
Design that feels like warm sunlight on your skin.
You know that feeling of stepping out into the spring sun after a long winter? The beauty of a wildflower meadow? The smell of freshly cut grass? Or the calming sound of waves lapping on shore?
That’s the feeling I bring to my projects through Biophilic Design.
My journey to biophilic design
With over 15 years of experience across interior design, art direction, and hospitality, I bring a deep understanding of how to design spaces that connect us to nature.
I’ve tried on many hats before I found my true calling; from marketing and wardrobe styling, to hospitality management, plant care, and finally, interior design centered on biophilia.
The throughline is that I care deeply about delivering a quality end result that leaves people feeling better.
Enriching lives is at the heart of my work
I think a lot about the loneliness epidemic and how we’ve started to devalue in-person connection, and how the spaces we spend time in either support us or work against us.
I also think a lot about regenerative design — this idea that we can move beyond just reducing harm and start asking how we create a positive effect.
That matters to me.
It matters in the materials we choose, the makers we support, and the standards we uphold.
Design that goes deeper.
I am constantly building a strong Rolodex of people and products I trust. Local makers. Ethical sources. Heirloom-quality pieces.
People who care about what they’re making and the effect it has.
I want my clients to know that when they come to me, they can trust me to point them toward things that align with their values.
A lot of designers are doing beautiful work! But many times beauty alone isn’t enough.
My process looks holistically at how well your space supports you. Do you feel less stressed when you walk in? Can you do your best work there? Has the design taken your day-to-day life or work into consideration so it functions well?
A big part of why this work matters to me so much is that I identify as a highly-sensitive person who is very in tune with the energy around me.
I can feel the effects of spaces.
I can feel when choices were made thoughtfully, and I can feel when they weren’t.
I want to do as much good as I can with the privilege, experience, and skills that I have.
And ensure my work produces a net-positive result for my clients and the planet.
These are the values I bring to every project, client interaction, and decision
-
Reciprocity with the natural world
Our work begins with the understanding that people and nature are not separate. Every design choice is a chance to strengthen that relationship through the materials we source, the systems we support, and the spaces we shape.
-
Stewardship is the standard.
Ecological responsibility runs underneath every choice we make and I treat every project as a chance to better the world. The site, the materials, and even the people who'll use the space are considered and care is taken to leave the world better than we found it… long after we're gone.
-
Fewer, better things.
We choose materials that earn their place: responsibly sourced, built to last, and honest in their origins. Restraint is a form of respect for the space, for the makers, for the materials themselves.
-
Resourceful by discipline.
We embrace complexity and pursue simplicity in the solution. Constraints of budget, of space, and of site are where the most interesting work happens.
If you’re looking for someone who cares about how a space feels, not just how it looks…that’s the heart of my work.
When you’re ready to build a home or workspace that reflects your values, supports the people inside it, and feels like a real extension of the life or work you’re building, I’d love to hear more.
